Dion to resign after Liberals choose new leader
Apparently it is all the Conservatives fault that Dion lost 19 seats, the worst Liberal performance in 100 years. Dion mentions that they had more money to advertise and slander the Liberals (and Dion in particular) over his Green Shift plan, and who Dion really was as a person and as a leader.
It is always nice to know that Canadian voters choose not to put a man into power who clearly can’t cut it. He is blaming everyone but himself for his performance. It is also understandable that Harper did not get his majority as many Canadians (I’m sure) saw his pulling the plug as a means to achieve a majority. It’s nice to know that confidence can be had with our voters (well, for those 58% that turned out to vote, anyway).
